UTOPIA 3RD OF DEC 2012

In the distant future, the Russian taiga, nearly 6,000 km from Moscow (exact GPS coordinates are changing) high speed advancing army of robots. These are the latest generation of devices. Their mission is to quickly, economically and environmentally forage around the entire sector of the taiga and to identify the exact location of any dead tree in the the forest. The command post receives data and constantly updates a detailed map of all lying and upright dead trees, measuring, and assessing the amount of timber.

Ahead is planning of the next phase: transportation of timber material to the processing plants. The next army of robots departs. Their route is carefully planned so that each dead tree on the map to be found; if it is necessary to be knocked down; cut into parts easy to carry; and dragged to the main point of mass transportation.

At that station timber is loaded on barges. It will travel waterways in to the plants. There, with the most advanced technology for bio-Refining dead timber flesh will be transformed into food, clothing, building materials, furniture, vehicles, appliances, robots and equipment, fuels, chemicals and many more. Exhaust heat powers the nearest town. Nothing is lost in this process, nothing is thrown either into the air or as crap, and everything put into operation is processed and reprocessed again in a never-ending cycle.

Long ago scientists have realized that wood residues are chemically heterogeneous resource that can be used for the production of fuels and chemicals. Because of their complexity, they have the potential to be converted into infinite variety of products. The type and variety of chemicals that can be produced from wood residues is almost unlimited. With the new bio-refining technologies this task became economical to achieve.

Third wave of robots departs from the bases to the forest. Although too much dead trees in the forests lead to fire hazards, this material is vital for the soils and the entire ecosystem. Now the robots have to return some of the taken, just enough, to preserve forest’s growing cycle.

Each processing plant is connected to the city by speed transparent tunnels. One can constantly see workers traveling to - / and from the plants. Main activity of the people is to maintain the equipment and systems (the robots which like carbon-fiber-bees work in the forests). After all, the process is fully automated.

Employees live in the nearby town, in the middle of the taiga. Their city is both a "machine for living" precisely designed to create the living conditions for the required staff, but at the same time this city is a great location with panoramic views, with opportunities for having great fun, close to the most picturesque areas of the taiga radius 3000 km. Tourists constantly arrive here; students flock for summer vacations. Green schools are organized for children to study the local environment.

City’s streets are of a new generation. Nothing to do with the heavy and dirty urban infrastructures of the past. Every street is a moving walkway or an escalator on which pedestrians can easily and ecologically go to each section. Streets have different lanes at different speeds, but those who want to shorten the time to get to a point can walk or run and can use carts for baggage.

All energy comes from the city's processing plants. The whole city is built with materials produced there. Biomass produced is also involved in a continuous cycle of food and energy production. The whole development is green with many parks and gardens; it also offers opportunities for farming. All floors, levels and sections have areas for growing crops; most crops are greenhouse for year-round giving harvest. The city is planned so that sunlight can reach every corner.

Permanent residents (the workers) have plenty of free time. Each of them actually owns other real estate properties around the world and travels frequently.

Cities of the older generation continue to exist in updated form. Its permanent residents are the one who have not found work. Anyway even without a job no one is poor. Social policy is quite generous, so even the unemployed are not deprived of anything. Really, it is better to work ... But not everyone has the capacity. Companies hire only the best.

With the introduction of new bio-Refining technologies, global economy changed. Huge amount of new and renewable resources made it possible that no longer people can be deprived of food, clothing, housing and opportunities of having good time with sports, entertainment, art, tourism. Those who cannot find jobs because they do not meet the requirements of the different companies/ social organizations… always have a chance. Anyone can attend various courses to improve the skills. For unemployed it’s free. Toughest succeed!

The ones who are talented and skilled labor in specific “new generation” cities where all things are produced from renewable resources.

Most new generation cities are of a temporary type. For example, forest areas are cleared of dead timber for 10 years and then there is not enough material for optimum production. Of course, except dead wood residues, plants receive live cut trees. But rather logging is done only at individual sites and only individual trees where deforestation contributes to overall forests’ growth. Then the city will be dismantled and moved to the next place, to operate for the next 10 years. When time passes, there shall be a city at the old site again.
